Educating through Animation
Learning through animation has no age limit; it can be used in early childhood, primary and high schools, and even in universities. Children and adolescents, especially, respond well to animation.
Check out our “Backseat Safety Officer” video—a kid-friendly, educational, and lighthearted animation that brings road safety to life. With engaging characters, catchy music, and a fun storyline, this animated video makes learning about backseat safety easy and enjoyable for young viewers.
How can animation help?
Animation can be used to help educate students, as well as enforce rules and regulations. As animation uses characters, it can remove bias involved with gender, race and stereotypes to help people feel more included or less targeted depending on the subject – brightening and softening topics as needed.
Our recent animation project for UQ’s international students provides essential guidance to help them navigate university life. Using engaging visuals, clear narration, and a focus on UQ’s core values, we created a video series that resonates with international students and underscores the university’s commitment to excellence.
What can animation be used for?
In early childhood, animation can be used to teach children about:
- Healthy foods
- Sharing
- Respecting others
- Their daily schedule
- Healthy habits
For primary and high school children, animation can be used to teach and enforce:
- School policies – e.g. how to wear the uniform correctly and the bullying policy
- School procedures – e.g. what to do in a fire drill and how to use the library to research.
It can also be used externally to communicate with parents:
- The history of the school
- Special programs
- School policies and procedures
- School achievements and community engagement
